The German Federal Police, as the nation’s premier and most significant federal agency, plays a crucial role in maintaining the country’s security. With a dedicated workforce of 54000, the agency’s primary responsibilities encompass border security, railway safety, and aviation security. Additionally, the Federal Police is entrusted with the protection of the federal constitutional bodies, among other duties.
In this context, the importance of incident management for the Federal Police cannot be overstated. Effective incident management in today’s world necessitates up-to-date, comprehensive, and accurate information about incident-relevant "points of interest" (POIs). This ensures a swift and efficient response to emergencies, thereby safeguarding public safety and national security.
To further enhance their capabilities, the Federal Police decided to acquire a "ready-to-use" application (APP) for police-owned smartphones and tablets. This application is designed to record the location-based data of these POIs and provide it internally, thereby improving the efficiency and effectiveness of their incident management operations.
